I hope you will consider making a "Dream Jar" at home this week.
Teleschool for Ison Springs Elementary officially began on Monday, March 16, 2020 Here are some Stories I have recorded or recommended to our families. Click the link to view. April 14, Another favorite "egg" story is The Talking Eggs by Robert D. Sa Sauci. A great activity to follow up on this weeks stories is to write a story about a magic egg. I am always amazed by the creativity students bring to this type of prompt after reading a few good stories. April 13, Well we are back from "Spring Break" and ready to plug back into our new school reality. One of my favorite Spring time stories is Rechenka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco. There is a great Reading Rainbow Episode that introduces the author. April 2, Even Llama in Llama, Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney is wearing red to show his love on Autism Acceptance Day. Llamma, Lamma Red Pajama-Spanish), No fooling...April 1st is share your passion! "Salt In His Shoes"- Michael Jordan in pursuit of a dream" by Deloris Jordan. is my choice. I encourage you to think about your passion and find books on that topic. March 31: Neurodiversity Tuesday I chose "Rainbow Stew" by Cathryn Falwell in celebration of the diverse spectrum of the human mind. Can you identify all the wonderful adjectives in this book? March 30 "Alfie" by Thyra Heder - I chose this book because most everyone is working on characters. This story is told by two different characters. Can you tell where the point of view switches? March 26 "Ten Rules of Being a Superhero" by Deb Pilutti for Superhero Day! Consider sending this one to the Superheros you letting them know how much we appreicate them. Today By March 25 On my walk for "Work Out Wednesday" I thought about the book "I Want to Be" by Thylias Moss- This link is read by the illustrator, Jerry Pinkney. Waks can greatly inspire our imaginations especially when we use all our senses. March 24 I found myself needing to change bad dreams into "dreamy dreams" so I recorded "Dream Jar" by Lindan Lee Johnson Please note: this is a longer story that really spoke to our olderstudents when we read it at Family Bedtime Stories. March 23 we celebrated our hair- In honor of the many people coping with serious illness through this crisis I posted "Hair Love" by Matthew A. Cherry March 19 - Pajama Day so I suggested a Family Bedtime Stories favorite "Pajama Time" by Sandra Boynton, March 18 "Walk it Out Wednesday" in honor of our dads I shared "The Listening Walk" by Paul Showers I originally planned to try and record a story a week, but in response to feedback from my friend, S.M. on March 17, I recorded "Happy Dreamer" by Peter Reynolds March 16, all our teachers and staff were desperate to know how our families were doing so I recorded: What Did You Do Today? by Kerry Arquette
