This month we celebrated fall.
We began by reading the "riddle poems on our take away.
"What is it?" by Heidi Roemer
"Something" by David Hill
October is a time when we encourage dressing up and imaginations can run wild. As the weather grows cooler and days grow shorter, we have more hours of darkness. We have to be careful with our children and monitor the imaginary fears we expose them to. At the same time, we need to help them recognize that everyone has fears and provide a safe place to share and overcome their fears.
Our first books featured children w/ wild imaginations
"There's a Nightmare in My Closet" by Mercer Mayer
“Little One’s Bedtime” by Suzie Moore & Rosie Reeve
Stretch break: "Five in the Bed" & "Teddy bear"
(Ms. Correa introduced “Teddy” & explained how he helps her not feel alone)
“Bear Feels Scared” by Karma Wilson & Jane Chapman
“No Matter What” by Debi Gliori
“I Love You Through and Through” by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak English/Spanish
To celebrate the season, everyone got to choose a little pumpkin to take home.
Book give away: "Good Night Owl" by Greg Pizzoli
